Church gets real in the small rooms — the choir loft, the card table, the food pantry line.
Wherever you'd fit, there's a seat open.

Devotionals from the Pastor, where the church is headed, and church news. A few minutes of reading each week.

Music

Sunday worship is blended: the chancel choir and the worship band share the same service. The choir practices Sunday mornings at 8:30 and sings at 9:30; the band rehearses Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. If you sing, play, or would rather run the camera or the soundboard for the livestream, there's a spot for you. No audition required. Come to a rehearsal, or ask our Director of Music where you'd fit.

Food Pantry

Every other Friday from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, the Atchison County Food Pantry opens in our basement, drive-through from the N. 8th Street alley. It runs entirely on volunteers and serves more than 600 families a year. Help on a pantry Friday, drop off non-perishables at the church office (peanut butter, cereal, canned meat, pasta and sauce, soup, canned fruit and vegetables), or give by check to First Christian Church with "Food Pantry" in the memo line. This month's dates are on the Pantry's Facebook page.

Sundays

Worship at 9:30. Sunday School at 10:40 — kids and youth in the Education Wing. Adult classes at 8:30 and 10:40: three to pick from, and someone at the door will point you to a room. Second Sunday: breakfast at 8:30.

Wednesdays

Bible Study at 6:00 PM in the Chapel, September through June. Bring your questions.

Thursday mornings

Coffee & Conversation — the women's group. 10:00 AM at Paolucci's, 113 S. 3rd St. No agenda, just coffee and good company. Women of any age are welcome.

Thursday evenings

Dinner Church, doors open 5:30 PM at 716 Commercial St. A shared meal and a short time of worship around the table.

Tuesdays

Sewing & Service on the second Tuesday at 1:00 PM, and Christian Women's Fellowship on the last Tuesday. Both meet in Wolf Hall.

Every other Friday

Food Pantry, 1:00 to 3:00 PM. Volunteers are always welcome; this month's dates are on the Pantry's Facebook page.

Who leads here, and where the youth gather.

Youth Group — Middle schoolers (6th–8th) and high schoolers (9th–12th) each have their own group on Sunday evenings, with trips and camps through the year. Call the office for this week's time.

Everything for families — nursery, Sunday School, and youth — is on our Kids & Youth page.

Elders — The congregation's spiritual leaders: they serve at the communion table, pray with people, and walk alongside the pastor. Second Tuesday of the month, 6:00 PM, in the chapel.

Deacons — The hands of Sunday morning: preparing and serving communion, greeting, receiving the offering, and helping wherever a hand is needed. Second Tuesday, 6:30 PM, Wolf Hall.

Church Board — Looks after the church's business: budget, building, and staffing. Second Tuesday, 7:00 PM, Wolf Hall. Questions for the Board go through the office.

Serve

Serving here looks like a hundred small things: greeting at the door, teaching Sunday school, driving an elder to church, watering the flowers, washing dishes after a funeral dinner, running a camera.
Tell us what you're good at — or what you'd like to become good at — and we'll find you a spot.
